ABOUT RIF

Stony Brook University's Reading is Fun Club provides international students with a fun and engaging environment to build their confidence in the English language. At RIF meetings, a small group of students are paired with one to two mentors that help lead the discussions during the meetings. At each meeting, the RIF mentors and members read books and play interactive games, enabling international students to improve their English language pronunciation, vocabulary, and analytical skills, while making new friends and sharing ideas with one another!
Our mission is to offer international students opportunities to gather and read for enjoyment. In weekly meetings, we seek to build confidence in English language skills by taking part in discussions, by sharing ideas, and by building vocabulary in a non-academic setting.
